All Out Effort

What has captivated your attention? To what or to whom are your Eyes Wide Open? Peter knew this question matters because he knew that there is a real struggle, a real tension as Jesus Followers. On the one hand we desire to follow Jesus as the organizing principle of our lives. We don’t just want to be curious followers that hang out on the edges. We want Jesus to captivate us with our Eyes Wide Open to him so that he becomes preeminent in our everyday decisions. But on the other hand we struggle to escape the corruption that is in this world. There are so many pressures, demands, expectations and desires that clamor for our time, energy and resources. So how do we manage this struggle? Practically speaking, what can we do to keep our Eyes Wide Open to Jesus so that he becomes preeminent in our lives?
