Meet Vicki and Ghazi Nasr
Meet Vicki and Ghazi Nasr
“God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you” could be the theme song for our marriage. Ghazi was married 17 years to my thirteen. Both of us were divorced for seven and as Christians, we were devastated by the divorces.
He had decided if he ever married again, it would only be to a girl who went to church Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night and sang in the choir! A man of INTEGRITY who would love my boys, was my hope. God was faithful to give us our hearts’ desires.
We were married 7 months after our first date. Complications with kids, exes, and custody battles were encountered. Obstacles with finances, health, and employment were endured. THROUGH it all, God blessed and our love for one another grew deeper still.
We have four children and six grandchildren. Now, almost 25 years later, I can’t say we achieved a truly “blended” family - it’s more like a garden salad, with the love of Jesus poured over us all. Our faith, in God and in one another, has kept us “hand in hand” up the steep hills and down the dark valleys of this roller-coaster called life. Ghazi cherishes me, and I am inspired by him. I know no other man who spends as much time daily reading the Bible and listening to sermons! Before Bible Gateway, he was my concordance!
As a result of the kindness and healing God gives us, we are blessed to be able to speak love, help, and hope to others navigating a similar life-altering experience. Through a program called DivorceCare at Faith Bible, we are honored to listen, support, and hopefully, hold a light to the path Jesus unveils for all BROKEN people to follow. We are blessed as we minister to them just as the scripture says:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (NIV)
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
We feel privileged to be part of this FAMILY of believers at Faith Bible who care and help, support and encourage, worship and grow stronger, as they love one another through Jesus Christ, our Savior.
