Meet Jodee Melton

Meet Jodee Melton

In March of 2019 we started the transition back to Texas to be on staff at Faith Bible. I begged and pleaded with the Lord to make it evident that this was the move He wanted us to take. As Chad had more conversations with the Elders and the staff we regularly prayed for a very clear “yes” or “no” to continue the process. It is amazing now to look back at how so many big and small things were falling into place. This was not luck or just chance, it was the hand of God moving and putting pieces of the puzzle into place. I also know many people at Faith Bible and at our church in Kansas City were praying for us during this time.

The first week that we got to into our house, our kids and myself were, at moments, a little uncertain of our decision to move. However, in those moments, we have talked about how building friendships with others that you do life with doesn’t happen overnight.  Those types of relationships take time, energy, investment, and willingness.  We have to build margin in our lives so we can do life with others.

Our ministry verse for our family is 1 Thessalonians 2:8 and it says “We loved you so much that we not only shared God’s Good News, but our lives too. (NLT)”. Doing life with others is the way we know how to do ministry outside the walls of a church.  For us, that means dinner at our house, making Target runs, going to the park, pool hopping to see friends, going to get Bahama Bucks.  As we go about our day, we look for ways to share our lives with others.  If you are around us much, you will see that we like to joke around, have fun, hang out, watch tv, eat, play Legos, have nerf gun wars, go to Chick-Fil-A and all this can be done with others.

All through the past month, I can see the Lord’s faithfulness and the opportunities that we have had to already to do life with others.  We are so excited to be here at Faith Bible!  As a Christ follower, wife, and mom thank you for loving on our family so well since we have been here.  Thank you for asking how we are doing, but most of all thank you for praying for us even before you knew us!
