PRAY LIKE NEVER BEFORE
Welcome to the Pray Like Never Before Prayer Initiative!
At Faith Bible Church, we believe we are standing at the beginning of something truly significant. Vision 2030 is more than a sermon series; it is an invitation. As we study Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman in John 4, we are reminded that grace crosses every barrier and meets people in the places they least expect. Your commitment to pray daily strengthens our unity and prepares us to follow Jesus into the future He is shaping for us.
As part of this journey, we are setting aside four Wednesdays during the campaign as a churchwide fast, choosing to hunger for God more than anything else. Each week (August 19th, 26th, September 2nd and 9th), we will break the fast together with a meal at Faith Bible Church, celebrating His faithfulness and encouraging one another to keep pressing in. We will meet at 6:30 pm, share a meal, and then spend time worshiping and praying together.
The primary objective of this initiative is simple yet profound: that our church would accomplish its God-given vision and do so Like Never Before. Through daily prayer and weekly fasting, we are asking God to refine us, align us, and empower us to understand grace more fully, experience grace more deeply and extend grace more boldly to every corner of our world. We are honored to walk this path with you, trusting that the Lord will use these spiritual disciplines to shape us into people who live out grace like never before.

GRace, prayer
and fasting

GRACE
Grace is one of God’s predominant character qualities. It is not something we naturally possess. To become more Christlike, we must submit to the refining, transformative work of the Holy Spirit in our inner person. This requires intentional discipleship as we seek the Lord through daily prayer and regular fasting.

PRAYER
How do we pray?
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. In Matthew 6:9–13, Jesus replies: “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’”
Amen.’”
- Our Father: We address a loving Father, not a distant deity.
- Hallowed be Your name: Begin with worship, acknowledging His holiness and sovereignty.
- Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven: Align your will with His purposes.
- Give us this day our daily bread: Bring your needs before Him, trusting His provision.
- And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors: Examine your heart for unforgiveness; God forgives us as we forgive others (Matthew 6:14–15).
- And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil: Ask for protection and spiritual strength.
- For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever: We end as we began, with acknowledgement of the nature, character, and sovereignty of God.
FastING
What is fasting?
Fasting is not merely going without food. It is intentionally setting aside physical nourishment to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting refrains from food for a spiritual purpose—refocusing attention from pleasing self to pleasing God.
Why do we fast?
It is a biblical practice modeled by Moses, Elijah, Esther, Daniel, David, Nehemiah, Paul, the disciples, and most importantly, Jesus.
Fasting sets us apart for a specific time to focus more deeply on the Lord through prayer, worship, and surrender.

PRAYER
How do we pray?
Starting August 19th, we will send you 2 prayer prompts a day, for 26 days, ending on September 13th. Each prompt is designed to help you specifically pray for our church family as it relates to Vision 2030 and understanding, experiencing, and extending grace like never before. Scripture accompanies each prompt to help guide your prayer. We also wanted to give a few models for prayer to help during this initiative. We would encourage you to try them all as you pray.
