Meet Nathan Mahaffey

Hello everyone, my name is Nathan Mahaffey. I was saved a young child and got baptized, but did not truly appreciate or understand it.

Growing up, I saw Jesus impacting other people's lives, especially getting my mother through cancer and other trials, but never personally felt His presence in my own life. My dad’s pattern of walking out when things got hard broke my ability to trust male figures. My heart had a void, which I tried to fill with worldly desires. It wasn’t working, and I hit rock bottom.

Having nowhere to go but up, I decided to go through re:generation with my family, which is where I learned how to look inward and recognize that God has forgiven me. Eventually, I found my way to the Faith Young Adults where I met Zech Filer and Nate Clark, who I learned to trust as mentor figures. At the 2024 Men’s Retreat, these two men helped open my eyes to areas in my life where I needed to grow. That was the catalyst for my surrender and I devoted my life to Christ that weekend.

Since then, God has been showing me that He sees me, He loves me for who I am, and He has been pursuing me my whole life. Now that I see Him in everything I do, I count on His grace to be what gets me through every season. I especially praise Him for this second chance at a true baptism, and to appreciate it as a proclamation to my fellow church body of my faith and trust in Jesus. Thank you, and God bless!
