The Beginning: Genesis 1:1-25
Genesis 1:2 describes a wild and waste world covered in darkness and chaos. Out of that, God creates, bringing order and function as He creates. We see this order and function as God speaks. We see it in the design of the chapter and how the days relate to one another. The repetition of words and phrases all point to our creator God and emphasize His handiwork.
