READ: Matthew 5:13, Colossians 1:10, Matthew 25:35-40
Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? These foundational questions often baffle people. Many search their entire lives for the answers. Do you know how blessed you are to have the answers as a Christian? God's awesome sovereignty and love gave us the answers in His Word.
READ: Isaiah 43:7-13
In this passage, God declares Himself to be God, existent from eternity. He is the all-powerful Creator and Savior. We were formed by Him and created for His glory. This is our innate purpose. God redeemed us through His Son's sacrifice on the cross, and our response is to glorify Him. We glorify Him through our worship and praise. We exalt Him and give Him priority in our lives.
The Westminster Catechism puts it this way:
We also glorify Him by exemplifying Him and doing good works in His Name. Ephesians 2:10 states, "We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them" (emphasis added).
As ambassadors of Christ, we are to do good works. Why? Because God has purposed us for this, it is a natural result of our relationship with Him. We are all familiar with the phrase: They will know we are Christians by our love. Love is an outworking of the love we have received from God. It is not a passive verb but an active one. It is a joy, not a task. It is a privilege, not a burden.

- What do the Scriptures principally teach? The Scriptures principally teach what man is to believe concerning God and what duty God requires of man.
- What is God? God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable, in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.
- Are there more Gods than one? There is but one only, the living and true God.

When we are not fulfilling our foundational purpose, how can we then feel fulfilled in life?
