Meet Naomi Reed

My faith is something I took for granted for many years. Although I knew the truth of God’s love from early in my youth I never really received him in my heart. I let God’s truth be something that was just comfort to my ears and because of my selfish and self-centered heart I was never willing to put my faith in him.

At a very young age, I began to use alcohol and drugs. They quickly took over my life, became my god and began to destroy absolutely everything and hurt the people I loved. The power of alcohol and drugs held me completely imprisoned; spiritually and physically. I desperately tried for many years to stop doing this to myself and the people I loved, but no matter how hard I tried I could not free myself. This vicious cycle went on for twenty-seven years. “But for the Grace of God”.

Seventeen years ago, God brought me to a place where I fully believed he had the power to save me and change me. I put my faith in Him and received Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I now stand on the Solid Rock that is Jesus Christ, that is the only truth in this world that gives me freedom. John 8:32 Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

Through God’s love and faithfulness, He healed the wounds of my past and His Word continues to teach me all that he is and the promises He has for my life. God has blessed me to be happily married for to a wonderful husband for eleven years. Something I always desired but thought would never happen for me. We are a blended family of six kids and two grandkids.

Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. - Psalm 37:4

I am thankful to be a member of the body of Christ which is an experience like no other. God led my husband John and I here to Faith Bible seven years ago. Something beautiful happens in my heart when I get to worship and share God’s love with other believers. My faith in God has given me the gift of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me to have the life He intended me to have, a life of love, peace, sobriety, and a personal relationship with him.

I no longer take the word "faith" for granted. It is a word that changed my life forever and Eternity. It is with a grateful heart that I give God all the Glory.
